| Description:
Fine-tuning the white-knuckled "car chase" formula of its predecessor, Driver 2 features more of the same high-speed, inner-city vehicular mayhem, casting players once again as Tanner, a hard-boiled undercover cop who is posing as a bad-ass getaway driver, this time to stop an international mob war. With computer-animated cinematic sequences doing the lion's share of the storytelling, players must guide Tanner through more than 40 action-packed missions in four different city settings, this time on foot--which primarily allows Tanner to carjack other vehicles--as well as behind the wheel. While it can be of a lot of fun to play, Driver 2 is no joyride. The missions can be quite unforgiving, requiring many restarts to complete, and the cops are quite determined even at the "Easy" setting. Also, the game's coarse, choppy 3-D graphics often get in the way of things, with slowdowns disrupting the game's pace, and buildings and such popping up out of nowhere. --Joe Hon

This game is amazing and kept me occupied for hours on end. The missions in places were really hard but cool. This game is better then the original which is okay but this game rules with avengence. Driver 3 sucks compared to this game so don't buy driver 3 buy driver 2 as driver 3 sucks and driver 2 rules so so much. The graphics are pretty cool but they are better in driver 3 but the game still sucks overall so don't buy it. Overall buy driver 2 not driver 3 or even driver okay. P,s we americans like fast cars and hot ladies. |

Almost Perfect

This game takes the original concept of its predecessor and makes it better... sort of. Indeed the FMV's of driver 2 are breathtaking and make up for the game's flaws. The soundtrack is superb and almost everything about this game is perfect.
Then, however, we move on to in game graphics. The fact that driver 2's in game graphics look so bad isn't because they're made badly made, it's simply because they're too good for playback on a playstation. If you've already heard these rumours, I'm sorry to confirm that the in game graphics of this game are worse than the first. The gameplay jerks in places, buildings disappear, and none of the scenery or cars look as crisp as they did in the first game.
If you can grit that, then Driver 2 is an extremely enjoyable game. The cities are accurately depicted and bends and round-abouts on roads add realism where the original lacked it. New features such as 2 player mode and "Car Jacking" make the game much better. And despite its flaws driver 2 still manages to impress. Definitely recommended - for those with a strong stomach for some bad graphics. |

Driver 2 is good but has some technical dificultys It's grafics are good not great but cruching those cops is great fun.
There are loads of cars and 4 cool levels including vegas rio sicargo and havana all the cop cars are different in each country!
There is good damage but no parts come off the cars DOH!
some good cars to use are the cop cars the streched limo [black or white] or the mini couper but you have to unlock this one! |

Amazing

You COULD say the graphics are worse. They're certainly more fragile than Driver's. Then you realise how much detail this game is packing in. The driving (and walking) environments are so vast and so well textured that it's hardly surprising that they pop up and disintegrate a bit. The point is - it in NO way spoiled the game for me. There are more attractive and more realistic city environments, packed with a wonderful assortment of vehicles. From small sedans to massive jeeps, lorries, buses, limosines, fire engines, ambulances and of course police cars. All these vehicles move much more intelligently and realistically than they did in the first game. Anyway, it's a wonderful driving experience. All the thrills of the first game except on a much grander scale - the HUGE cities with curved roads and more or less infinite exploration value make it a superb sequel, in my opinion. Plus a more thoughtful plot with some amazing cut scenes tying the frantic missions together. Excellent cars, spot on physics, plus the ability to get out of the car and steal any other vehicle (including all those previously mentioned and much more)! Multiplayer is fun too - you just have to put up with a first person view. It's not much to ask. Superb. |
