| Description:
With its winning mix of action, strategy and stealth, Hitman Contracts marks a successful third entry in the franchise, and has some neat new tricks up its sleeve. That said, the core of the game is still fundamentally the same as before. You take the role of a genetically modified hitman who from the off finds himself in deep trouble, holed up in a tight spot surrounded by people who want him dead. The reasons why become clear as you play your way through a series of flashbacks, some of which draw heavily from the previous games in the series. Fortunately, the similarities also stretch to the gameplay, which is by turns taut, tense and violent. The game gives you plenty of freedom in choosing how to tackle the various missions you're presented with, and particularly in the early stages it's tremendously good fun working out the best way to achieve an objective. There are a couple of drawbacks: the game is a little shorter than might be expected, and it is more of an evolution from previous adventures than a independent sequel. But these are minor niggles, especially when you consider that this is the best game to date in the Hitman franchise. It's going to be interesting to see how creators Io Interactive develop the series, but for now they've given us a healthy dose of what's gone before, and made it a little better. --Simon Brew

This a favorite of mine because it is the first Hitman game to use improvised weapons and with its updated disguise system a sure fire for stealth game enthusiasts. This is a vast inprovement on the first game and better than the second. The sniper system is fantastic a great tool to use on the game and better still because this is basically a remake of the first Hitman i recommend it. For those Hitman fans out there it is a fantastic game but buy its sequel and prepare to be amazed. |

Not Just For Stealth Fans

Right from the offset when you train to be a hitman you realise that this is a very stylish game indeed. The beauty of this game over the sequel is that you can either be a hitman carefully executing kills by, or more often than not you can go in guns blazing, which in my view makes it vastly superior to its prequel. Of course it is a lot more satisfying executing the perfect kill but if for some reason this fails it is satisfying and comforting to know that you can rely on the alternative method if need be. Add to that the variety of levels seeing you executing kills in various different locations and scenarios and this is a beautiful and stunning game to play. The fact that you can replay levels at varying degrees of difficult, or to simply get the perfect kill, offers replay value upon completion.

ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE!!

"I bought this game recently and found it to be utterly disgraceful. The first level i found myself struggling to carry on playing, i only carried on in the hope that it would get better, i wish i hadn't. I was finally put off by the second level. By the way, i knew when i bought this game that it would contain violence, but when i reached the second level i literally felt sick. This mssion is an S & M party in a butchers. Not only did the portrayal of sexual behaviour disturb me but the over emphasis of blood. I found myself turning off the game, trying to overcome my sick feeling and returning the game. I am an avid game player and have seen my fair share of violence in games and it has not in anyway put me off playing, but Hitman has to be the most gruesome and disgusting game i have ever played. I don't see how anyone could even buy this game let alone have the nerve to make it and sell it. This game is sadistic, perverted and a disgrace to the gaming industry. And please let me point out that i am a 16 year old, so don't get the idea that a parent is writing this. This game does not even deserve the one star. AVOID! "
Im pretty sure the term "HITMAN" gives you an idea of what to expect, so by buying this game you accept that there maybe disconcerting and thought provoking images! however, i bought this when i were 16 2year ago, and it didnt effect me whatsoever, yes it's masochistic and violent, but you dont play hitman to be nice, if you wana be nice go play with G.I. Joe or something!!
The game is top noth, but compared to Hitman 2: Silent Assassin it's not that good, in my own opinion H2:SA is probably better then Blood Money as well!! |

Really good fun

I thing this game is great. In terms of graphics and animation its nothing special but it makes up for that in spades with its fantastic game play. You can choose how you want to complete each mission giving it lots of scope to be played over and over again. It could do with more of a storyline and a better ending in my opinion but its the most fun game I've played on the x-box. |

The best stealth-shooter. Ever.

This game has many ways to finish the game, so replay value is high. Going around shooting is fun, but what the best way to play the game is by mixing action and stealth to bump off your target. One bad point, though, is that the Japanese levels get repetitive. And people complain that Hitman 47 'slides' around. Well, he does. But ID made it like that on purpose. It makes it individual. There are also updated levels from 'Codename 47: Hitman' (the first Hitman game) so that makes it a plus for people without a computer, since 'Codename' is for PC only (I have a Mac).
The graphics are next-gen PS2 graphics, and there are also quite disturbing parts, like the sick level in a meat-packing factory (use your imagination to figure out what goes on there!), and also the levels are varied.
