Good effort

Having owned the previous incarnations of this game i was begining to think that rugby coiuldnt be accurately captured on the computer. This version goes some way to alleviating it the gameplay is ok but set pieces and setplays still need work as does the ruck area. Even on the hardest level it is very easy to win once you get the knack of sidestepping and the handoff (you also end up with overlaps down the blindside to often which are very easy to put away). However as rugby games go this one is pretty good lots of options and teams to keep you occupied its just a shame more upto date players arent available because altho it says 2006 teams in premiership at least are based on 2005 at the latest |

Surprisingly Good

I was a little sceptical about this one. I've never been a huge fan of Fifa games because they're a bit slow; and I really wasn't sure how the game of rugby would translate into a computer game. But I gave it a go and was very pleasantly surprised. The action is much faster than recent Fifa titles and the graphics, while no match for Fifa, are good enough. Most aspects of the game, including set-plays, work well, although the line-outs could do with improvement. There's lots to do, from club rugby to 6-nations and world championship. Now available at reduced price, you could do a lot worse if you're just looking for good, clean sporting fun! |

Rugby 06 Good But No Online Play

They have improved a lot more than last year with this title with added extras in set pieces, offload passing and quick penalties, but it feels too easy to score a try side step and well try, but thats easy to sort just put a little harder, the most dissappointing thing about the title, is there is no online play, they say cause there aint a market for online play in Rugby, erm how ignorant of EA Sports, of course there is, i am one and my friends are a many, and i am sure people who read this review they are dissappointed to here no online play, but other than that if u love the game u will like the title. Ew and it looks pretty last year it looked like PS1 game now it looks all sheen clean and pretty. Good Buy But a little dissapointed about Online Play not being there |

Absolutely cracking

I bought this game with high expectations having already played on it at a mates house. I was not disappointed. The gameplay is smooth and much quicker than Rugby 2005, mainly thanks to the quick penalties and lineouts and the offloading in the tackle. The Guiness Premiership is a good addition and adds more depth to the game. The graphics are better than Rugby 2005, however not as much as I had hoped. All in all, a top game. |
