Excellent gameplay...Dated Graphics
(October 26, 2003) |
|
The first thing I am going to say about this is that the graphics of it, are less than average of a pc game nowadays. But that is only one of my two criticism of this game. My only other criticism is that the learning curve is quite steep. If you win your first game, no matter if you are New Zealand playing Wales, then you are the master and no mistake. But you are unlikely to do so...although some people might view the steep learning curve as an advantage, giving it more playability. The controls itself are very very good. They are quite easy to master and are a joy to work with. The number of competitions are also very good, with the Five Nations, Tri Tournament, World Cup, Exhibiton matches and much more...try unlocking the superstar teams and you will have a blast..although this is very difficult to unlock! The audio commentary is also very good and usually accurate, which is unusual due to how old this game is. Also, the commentary never annoys you, unlike Brian Lara Crickets hideously flawed and limited commentary. Overall, this game is one for the realists, not for the people who must have hi-tech everything. Realism is the key word here, and it makes for a damn fine game! Enjoy! |

LOMU...............Digs like a demented mole....
(July 24, 2002) |

LOMU.......Fantastic. If you are a rugby fan then Lomu is fantastic. If your not a rugby fan then Lomu is fantastic. Commentary is spot on, player abilities are accurate, team performance is realistic ( COME ON WALES ) and it plays well. Its not the easiest of games to master but once you have there are always new challenges to take up (Its still a struggle getting Wales to beat the All blacks ). The best thing about Lomu is you can spend hours playing it or play a quick game if you've got a spare 5 mins. I've had Lomu ages and still find myself playing it. A must buy. |

Like a Fine Wine

As they say wine improves with age. And with johna Lomu its no diferent the more you play the more you are hooked! I love to play a fun multiplayer game which is just pure fun. The only flaw is that the graphics are not the greatest, but who cares its rugby! The commentaters are full of witty remarks and there are many teams to play with and beat. And ... im sure its worth every penny. |
