bugs?
(October 03, 2008) |
|
ive been playing football manager since it first came out, but i have played fm2008 for 10 seasons straight and found no bugs, i aint patched it or upgraded my copy, so even though there is no demo and the game isnt out yet, im happy to give this game 4 stars due to my personal experiance with the prev fm's. |

These people are nuts!

The game isn't even out yet, neither is the demo, and yet they're giving it five stars!
Both FM7 and FM8 were riven with bugs out of the box, the first patch sorted the major faults out, but introduced others that made the game unplayable. Only once the second patch came out in Jan/Feb was the game usable, and then with extremely annoying errors. In fact, I still find FM8's match engine ludicrous to the point where I find it too annoying to play.
There's a word for FM players who can see no faults with the product, no matter what the evidence: fanboy.
Four reviewers who haven't even seen the new game, four five-star reviews. Idiots. Ignore them.

2-D or not to 2-D?
(September 30, 2008) |
|
I wait in anticpation I hear you all say!
Me too! I don't what Lorenzo's problem is with Vista because it works perfectly on my Vista. The only real drawback was widescreen support which SI have now included!
Now, the big one - 2-D or not 2-D. If you've watched the video on youtube about the 3-D match engine it looks pretty sweet. I guess we're always going to have cynics and then you've got traditionalists who don't want to make the change but I, for one, have been desperate for the last 10 years to see a good, solid, simulated, 3-D match engine to go with management games.
I still want Eidos (or whoever it is that does Chumpionship Manager) to lose their license so SI can have all the players and clubs. It would be perfect. |

The game of games
(September 23, 2008) |
|
Ah yes,the long awaited return of the management game leviathan, waking once more from its year long slumber to grace us with its presence again.as always, the developers have been trawling forums and feedback and given the fans and gamers exactly what they asked for,and taken a giant step forward with the 3d match engine.far from it being something to compete with actual 3d football games,it is a massive leap forward in technology, and the most sought after request for the series since the first 2d view many many moons ago.created with the developers of virtua striker, its to add another level of realism and to enhance tactics, not something merely to please ones eye.i for one wait, with baited breath, for the game that has actually been cited in divorce cases.
And yes, football manager 2008 works perfectly fine with vista, methinks anyone having trouble has deeper issues... |

Legends Never Die
(September 19, 2008) |

Quality games since they bought out championship manager, 3D system sounds a little bit daft as it will never be pro evo or fifa, i look forward to differentiating between gerrard and rooney etc etc. But i cannot doubt the game will be just as devestating to marriages and relationships as ever. By the way Lorenzo, if that is your real name, i am currently playing FM2008 on vista? Is this miracle worthy or....well there is no or. |
