Best Sellers : Colin McRae Rally 2.0
|
|
|
| Description:
The world of rally driving is an interesting one. Colin McRae Rally 2.0 from Codemasters tries to re-create that sense of fun. Get a car that is virtually the same as a standard road-going vehicle, and then drive it as fast as you can along a dirt track with hairpin bends, fjords, and terrain that the car wouldn't take too kindly to. Sounds like fun, you say. Coming into a field that is already jam-packed with great titles like V-Rally 2 and the original Colin McRae, 2.0 has somehow managed to produce the goods within the genre, but also introduces new ideas to what is a rather staid format. Every little detail has been taken care of, whether it's the presentation of the Wipeout 3-looking option screens, or the dents on your car as you hurtle around the courses. Twelve different cars and more than 80 new rally tracks in eight countries to choose from will keep you busy. If this doesn't satisfy, then perhaps the inclusion of a large multiplayer section within the game, where you have the option to race six people in a tag-team scenario, will. Colin McRae Rally 2.0 advances the original Colin McRae Rally. Improved graphics and better, more realistic gameplay has allowed this game to be among the greats when it comes to quality rally driving. If you're a rally fan, then it's well worth the investment. If, however, you believe that once you've played one rally game, you've played them all, it's probably best to steer clear of this one and stick to the one you've already got.--Stuart Miles

The best rally sim ever!!!!

This is a great rally game,it just so real. The cars handle just like real ones. The car also act differnt in differnt weather condtions. The damage and inside are as real as can be.The directions from colin's co-driver, make it more real than it already is. The are so many real rally tracks from all the rallies in the world. The arcade mode adds another level to this all ready brill game. The only thing that is a slight problem is in some of the later rallies get harder to win. It is a bit of a challenge but it is worth it in the end. This is a game you must buy even if you don't like driving game this is a must play. Now that it ison budget it is an absoulte bargin. Buy this game for ... is like getting free tickets for a football match. |

The Next Step

This game is a triumph over it's predecessor. If you're a driving sim fan, then this is for you. For realism, this game, as a rally sim, cannot be matched and the gameplay is second to none. Only two things detract from this game. Firstly, the co-driver calls are hugely inconsistent - some corners are tighter (or wider) than Nicky Grist claims in his pace notes. Consequently, the only way to win stages on the most difficult setting is to learn each stage off by heart. Whilst this lengthens the life of the game, it's a little pedantic and I, for one, would've preferred more stages to temper this... Secondly, some obstacles cause the car to crash more heavily than it should. Chief among the culprits are small trees and 'cloth' banners that can cause you to come to a complete halt, temporaily suspending the illusion. Overall, though, these faults should be considered minor as the game is a very rewarding play. My only hope is that Colin McRae Rally 3 is as much as an advance forward as Colin McRae 2 was. Keep up the good work, Codemasters! |

A challenge, but good fun

I've been hooked to CMR 2.0 for the past 2 months, the graphics and sound are excellent the car physics are fairly realistic. The game rewards you with improved cars and access to the expert level which becomes a real stumbling block at times but then who wants to finish the game in one week!! Definitely money well spent(and time on it) |

Sorry - but if you like playing racing games on a pc - you are after a good game that provides fun and you don't want to feel you have made a 'poor' purchase. This game is "ok" if you haven't tried any other - but if you compare it with "Mobil-1 Rally" (which in truth has poorer car handling and sound) - the superior graphics and gameplay on Mobil-1 totally blow this game (and its predecessor) out of the water - at a third of the cost! Comparing apples with apples you would then realise that maybe this purchase is not as good as you thought it was - enough said. |

A great racing sim

What can i say? Colin Mcrae 2 is real fun. And it is realistic too. In Colin McRae 2 you drive through 8 different countries, each country has a total of 10 tracks. Each country`s track holds a different challenge, and you have to adjust your car accordingly. Once you first get into the game, your gonna love it. The graphics are great, the car glides in flowing beauty through the terrain. If you liked Colin McRae 1 this is definetly the game for you. In Fact if you like driving, then this game is made just for you. Buy it and you won`t regret it. |
