The 2nd best racing game ever
(March 13, 2008) |
|
Drop recomended age 12+ This is a great game for about 7+. You have 3 cities, one called west coast (A seaside city with trams and jumps,) A place called Glitter Oasis(A Las Vegas style city) And one called Small Apple (An easy city) You can jump, toggle headlights, and be the craziest cab out there. As well as high scores you can play mini games in the crazy box. It is a must for any boy or girl.
In case you where wondering, Need for speed underground 2 is the best racing game.

the first thing you notice is the terrible conversion job from the original xbox version to the pc...right down to leaving in the 'press start' screen.
The main game is repetative and pointless with little incentive to play for longer than a few minutes.
you are constantly nagged by the voice over in a harsh annoying tone, the 'crazy x' game is the only redeeming feature of this game, it is mildly fun and there are a couple of hours on game play in there.
The music leaves a lot to be desired as well, there are maybe 4 tracks on a loop and even those are pretty samey.
However a major annoyance is that many of the mini game/crazy x games require you to use the crazy jump and crazy dash feature...i have pressed every key and every combination of keys i can find and i cannot for the life of me perform these moves and nowhere in the game or the control settings panel does it tell you how to do it, i mean i'm not frickin psychic!
I'm sure its supposed to be a hidden extra skill but when you have 108 keys and it could be any combination of those keys it's not worth the effort trying to find that out.
So that leaves the only half decent thing in the game mostly unplayable because they require said crazy dash.
Seriously don't waste your time or money on this rubbish, luckily i got given this game for free from another disgruntled gamer so i didn't spend my hard earned cash on this drivel.
Also the advertising in this game gets very annoying KFC and 'original levi store' among others.
Final comment: if you do play this game do yourself a favour and turn the sound off, a few minutes of generic surfer rock and army drill sergent style nagging mixed in with complaining passengers and pedestrians has you reaching for the tylenol pretty darn fast! |

Acceptable but the original plays much better on the PS2
(October 25, 2005) |

The game is back with new drivers added to the original ones. San Francisco is back along with some other towns. New features are added to, the most important one being groups of customers waiting for you. But the ergonomy of the original when played on the PS2 is much better, zinger and the controls far easier to use. |

Great game but a little repetetive.

This is a great game and for anyone familiar with Crazy Taxi games youwill know what to expect. There are 3 large cities, 12 drivers, crazydriving skills to master and mini games to train on. It is not all goodnews though. Whilst I enjoyed the mini games the actual main games is nottoo good for long term sessions. Best played in short bursts. Also thereis some slowdown when the screen gets full, or at least there was on myPC, which is of reasonable specifications. The other problems is that according to the game specifications there issome limitation on the graphics cards supported. Geforce 3 or higher, (notincluding the Geforce 4 MX series!!), ATI Radeon 8500 or higher and MatroxPerhalia are the only ones supported. I am not an expert on graphics cardsbut this seems a little limited to me. Check your card beforepurchase. However if you have the right specs and are looking for somearcade action then this will do nicely. Graphics and sound are all goodand the mini games are fun and quite a challenge for duffers like me and Ihaven't got to the really tough ones yet. |

Non-Stop Arcade Fun!
(January 11, 2004) |

Crazy Taxi 3 for PC sees the hi-octane driving game released for the first time on a format other than Microsoft's XBox. The aim of the game is to pick up passengers from random places around the many included cities and deliver them to their destination before the time runs out. The concept sounds simple but in practice it is far from it, you must crash, smash and dodge your way around town to get there on time! I highly recommend this game to any fans of the previous Crazy Taxi games or anyone looking for a game they can switch on and play for short periods at a time. Non-stop Arcade Fun! |
