Need For Fun - Need For Speed Under Ground 2

Woo what a ride! For me it is by far the best car game in the world! You can customize your ride to the extreme! Get sponsers, win races and see your self on the front of a magizen or DVD, its great. You even get to do the picture. It is AMAZINGLY FUN. I left my computer breath taken just as if I'd done the racing for real. It got me thinking about it 24-7! Its very addictive.
NEED FOR FUN - NEED FOR SPEED 2
MUST BUY - IT ROCKS!! LIKE NO OTHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

When I first played NFSU1, I was somewhat underwhelmed. Then a few months later, I gave it another chance and ended up loving it - the only problem was the linear gameplay, although thats nothing particularly unusual for a racer like this. The other game I loved at the time was GTA Vice City, in my opinion the best of the GTA games. However, at times the driving element of GTA could be much better.
NFSU2 takes, in my opinion, the best bits of both games and does an excellent job of combining them. What you get is the (to a point) freedom of GTA, with the stunning races of NFSU1. I've heard a lot of criticism about this game, but the bottom line is that it is incredibly good fun to play.
You'll want to turn up the difficulty level to get the most out of it, because the lower difficulty levels are no challenge at all. You'll also want to get your hands on a good analogue controlled to help manoevre your way around those tight hilly bends. Then turn down the light, turn up the speakers, take the phone off the hook, and you're away...
I like the idea of having a garage full of different cars, although I find it easier to concentrate on developing just two - one very fast car for drag, another with better handling for just about everything else. But the prospect of pimping up a Hummer is just too tempting and I end up taking it for a spin round the streets of Bayview.
This is a game that doesn't pretend to be something it isn't. Its all about the racing. Don't worry about the superficial story and just enjoy cruising the streets in your customised dream machine looking for racing and, occasionally, destruction. Marvel at the wonderful lighting effects, as tail-lights blur across the screen.
Don't take it too seriously and you're in for a hell of a ride! |

Not Pleased

I played the NFS-UG version 1 quite a lot. Kept coming back to it. After becoming the underground leader in all categories, I tried the free run bit to try to beat my own speed records and amused myself, trying out the various cars and models. Amazing how each car is completely different in handling and speed. So, expectantly I bought this second installment ... loaded it, raced once ... and that was it ... thoroughly unimpressed. Everything was so much better and fun in the original. I'd say not recommended... |

What can I say?Best ever game in the UK!You can upgrade cars,go into races, read text messages and go causing havoc in the city. The fact this is set in the U.S makes it alot better than rainy brittain.I wasn't shaw if I should get Underground 2 as my mate has Most Wanted and the original Need For Speed. There is nothing wrong with this game but get it now while its relatively cheap for a PS2 game at £19.99.JUST GET IT! |
