Midtown Madness
|
|
|
| Description:
Midtown Madness lets players live out their road-rage fantasies by turning downtown Chicago into a racetrack. And we do mean downtown Chicago--the game's developers modelled the city. It's not street-for-street accurate, but anyone who has visited Chicago will recognise landmarks and general street layout, if not individual buildings. Apparently nobody told the hapless citizens of the Windy City that you would be racing through their streets, since steady streams of traffic criss-cross in front of your car and hamper your progress. Expect to be blind-sided if you run a red light, and driving the wrong way on the freeway is not for the faint of heart. Let the cops catch wind of your escapades, and you'll re-create the last chase scene from Blues Brothers as they chase you down. Most racing games have shortcuts, but few are as fun as those in Midtown Madness. Will the drawbridge be down when you need to cross it? Should you go the wrong way down a one-way street, hoping traffic isn't too thick? Who knew that real-world considerations would make for a tenser racing game than the contrivances of games that use a fixed track? This more realistic approach to the racing environment also lets players indulge in things they would only dream of doing in the real world, like blowing by Wrigley Field at 100-plus miles per hour or pushing that annoying Sunday driver in front of you into oncoming traffic. Midtown Madness relieves stress like no other racing game.--T. Byrl Baker

completing midtown madness

This game is good and exiting, despite the difficulty . Fortunately if you do the right things it can be fun and easy. For example if you go on cruise you can free roam and drive anywhere. If you do two circuit races you unlock the city bus. Also the easyist car to win races in is the ford mustang GT. If you want to drive in the car press the letter D on cruise.
You can do all this plus more.

I no longer own this, but i remember how much i got addicted to it when i did own this. I love driving around in cars, on games, it is so much fun! I am not sure if racing is available on this game, but it sure is a great game! You freely drive around town in a vehicle, just like being in a proper car.
The only reason i did not rate this 5 stars is because i got a little bored of being in the same place all the time. |

Firstly, i have to rate the graphics 10/10, theyre stunning! 3D, and stand out great!
the roads and buildings look real and the vehicles are awesome!
free driving around a town. I loved the game but got a little bored of driving around the same areas after a bit. If you like driver type of thing you'll sure love this. I would say the PC graphics are much better though! |

Midtown Madness, though it was made a few years ago is a super game with vivid 3D action. Smash up a city in Cruise mode, go through all the checkpoints in a time limit in Blitz mode, Race artifical human computer players in Checkpoint mode, and see how many laps you can do in a time limit in Circuit mode. Online/ multiplayer cops and robbers mode. Can link up with the MSN gaming Zone. If you play this game then go to Chicago (where this game is set) the structure of the city is almost the same. Interactive weather eg. Night mode have headlights, raining mode have wipers. You can definatly have fun with this game. Thanks for reading! |
