Would have been great......
(July 11, 2004) |

.....if you could do something about the extremely irritating controls. For some reason, unlike the 2D versions of the game, the cursor keys only play a minor part in controlling your worms - I believe they now just allow fine rotation control when aiming weapons (Can't quite remember as I haven't had the patience to play it for ages). As for the main worm movement that takes up 80% of your turn time, you are forced to use the un-natural keys to the left of the keyboard (w,e,s,d ....etc). I FOUND THIS TO BE EXTREMELY ANNOYING AND YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE CONTROLS IN THE GAME!!!! Until they release a patch to allow you to edit the controls (and possibly improve the unforgiving camera angles), this game will continue to sit on my shelf. Surely it's not too hard - they do it in just about every game where you don't need to change them! The game itself is actually very impressive, and the transition to 3D has resulted in a beatiful new look to the series. That makes the above problems even more frustrating - I'd quite easily give this 5 stars otherwise. As it is, however, I feel that the instanly exciting gameplay of the 2D series has been lost and been replaced with a better visual side. And I know which I preferred... |

Worms Schworms.

I bought the game, and yes, it was great. So much fun to be had- where to start? The weapons were so cool, the maps were genious, the worms are as sarcastic as ever. But, as time went on, I found I didn't really WANT to play any more. I had squeezed all the fun out of it- and, maybe it's just me- but the appeal seemed to have died in me to actually play it. Many people will enjoy this, and credit to Team 17, it is a hell of a great game. But is it still as appealing as the 2D versions, with that 'pick up and play' idea? |

Not the Worms we know.

A Big Disappointment is all I can say. Buying this as a result of moving to win xp & Armageddon not being compatible. Was amazed with Worms Armageddon & thought itd just get better-but the 3d I believe is a disadvantage-instead of the normal quick flying trigger happy bombardment & disemboweling mayhem-I found myself spending more time trying to get the right camera view & options before being able to settle into a game. It may well be fine for many people but if you’re looking for the normal style quick mayhem-its probly not for you-I would definitely buy worms Armageddon over this if my machine were compatible. |

Worms 3D

This game is exellent. Team 17 was the pioneer games developer for the Commodore Amiga back in the early nineties with title's like Alien Breed and Super Frog. I was suprised to see that they have worked with SEGA which shows they have come a long way. This game is a typical team 17 game. Lots of fun. Hilarous speech tons of weapons and unlimited landscape's to battle on. This game has an endless lifespan thanks to its online capability powered by gamespy. I have had hours of fun playing against French, German, and many other people from other parts of the world. This game is definitely worth the money. The only point I would like to emphasise is if you get this game to enjoy it you are going to need a pretty good modern graphics card! The new G Force FX should do the trick nicely. The only downside which has nothing to do with the game is extremelly annoying title music (in my opinion) with a song called "Shake your Coconuts" |

worms is not to bad

graphics are very good and the game is a lot of fun to play with your friends. but it's got a lot bad points about it, so I only give it three stars. the camera angle can be a bit of a nightmare which can result in losing the game. and you need to complete the single player game before you can get any of the decent weapons and maps. |
