A Modern Classic
(March 21, 2007) |
|
Rayman 3 is the best of all of them. It succeeds in showing originality, humour and on top of it all its bloody fun. Ps. Steer clear of Rayman: Raving Rabbids. Its awful. This however takes the crown as one of the best cartoon PC games ever. |

Rayman has DONE IT AGAIN!!!
(November 17, 2003) |
|
I thought Rayman 2 was good, then out pops THIS game! As Rayman and Globox are relaxing under the moon on an idealistic summer night, a black lum named André pops up out of nowhere, decides to conquer the world and to that end transforms all the other red lums into an army of Hoodlums! Rayman now has TWO problems on his fully-detachable hands! One: he has to get rid the Hoodlums and restore order to his world. Two: he has to find a doctor who can extract André from Globox's stomach when the latter rather carelessly swallowed him!A brilliant game full of comedy, zany baddies and chaotic havoc! Also features new timed power-ups, including Heavy Metal Fist, Shock Rocket and Lockjaw! I highly recommend this! It is a must for all Rayman fans! |

Brilliant game, but difficult without a gamepad
(September 27, 2003) |

This is one of Ubi Soft's finest works, significantly beating things like Splinter Cell into submission. Various interesting things are littered around the game, like tortoises, which you can boot into the next level if you jump on them. Even the manual makes good reading. However, controlling Rayman with a keyboard and mouse is more difficult than a flight simulation, and the camera view of him can be a pain, as it sometimes turns round to look at Rayman in the face, meaning you can't see that enemy that's about to knock you into the next week. The consoles have got it sorted: their controllers are perfect for moving around in the game, and even a PC gamepad is great. But keyboards are about as useful for controlling the main character as a mobile phone is without a sim card. If anyone is worried about the console versions being better or worse, do not fear - they are all identical to the PC edition. What you should be worried about is the mental state of Murfy, a pretentious greenbottle who buzzes around you all the way through the game, giving you hints, which is useful for inexperienced gamers. If you have a gamepad, fine, go through the link and by all means order this game now, but you might want to consider purchasing one if you only have standard peripherals. |
