Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 (PC)
|
|
|
| Description:
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 has come on in leaps and bounds since the last edition. With improved graphics, greater realism and plenty of options you will be hard pushed to find a better flight simulator. They always say that God is in the detail, and the Flight simulator team have proved it here. The main difference you will notice straight away is in the landscape detail, taking on ideas that they have learnt through previous versions and their work on Microsoft Train Simulator (it's the same team) they have produced very impressive scenery. The sea shimmers in the sunlight, while waves crash against the seashore. Improved detail also means that certain cities like Las Vegas have character to them--you can see the lights and fireworks at night--while some airports now have the ability for you to dock at specific gates. It's not just the scenery though that has been improved and Microsoft Flight Simulator has now got a fully interactive Air Traffic Control system allowing you to request everything from landing procedures to traffic information. The need for a runway is no guarantee however, as the game has also introduced an amphibian plane to contend with, allowing you to land on any lake, sea or river. With so many features including downloadable live weather, multiplayer functions and even an analysis option to record your flights, this is one hefty product that will quench the thirst of any flight sim fan. --Jason Denwood

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002

I find Microsoft Flight Simulator quite good as the aircraft are very realistic and fantastic to fly. The graphics are very good and maybe could impove just a little bit. If I could change anything about the game I would put more aircraft liveries on such as British Airways, EasyJet, BMI Baby, etc. Before you buy this check the requirements as they are very high. |

FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2002

My brother bought the game late Febraury 2002 and at the time had anobsession with aviation. To be honest, at the time he bought it, i wasn'tintersted. I thought "Whats the point in flying around for ages andlanding with nothing but blue sky." I was absouloutly amazed to see howlife like the graphics are. The game comes with a couple of planes fromdifferent eras. Theres things like the Vought,to the Boeing 747. Theamphibious crafts and the choppers are great fun and even if you don'twant to do it properly, you can still mess about and have good fun. Ifyour looking for realism, then this is it. The only down side is thatsometimes it's abit boring after a while. Theres also a bit of problemwith the frame rate on some computers, but, all in all, it's not a badgame. |

A must buy for flight sim fans!

A great improvement on Microsofts Flight Sim 98. This version has many new features with improved graphics. An Interactive Air Traffic Control feature has been added allowing you to interact with ATC. The controllers respong to your requests for landing permission, take-off, and your position whilst in-flight. New planes include the Cessna Skyhawk 172, Cessna 208 Caravan Amphibian which can land both on land and water, as well as the Boeing 747-400.; A virtual cockpit is also another improvement that Microsoft have made allowing you to swivel in your cockpit to give a much more 3D environment. Other traffic in the skies has been introduced to improve realism. There is now realistic air traffic in the skies around airports, as well as parked planes on the ground. Flight lessons have been improved with a pre-flight video by a qualified pilot, and step-by-step instructions from taking-off, flying, landing, banking and other manoevers. The pilots handbook and manuals are now all on the disc. You can open these any time and even print the ones that you want off. More in-depth information about the 21,000 airports on the sim is included, and you are able to keep in touch with these with the aid of the new Interactive Air Traffic Control features. There are many more features than those I have just given, but then Id be spoiling it. Buy it and see how Microsoft have improved the quality of their flight sim games. |
