Good game BAD ERROR
(February 19, 2008) |

this is a great game fun wise, but being able to play it is hard. I was able to play it for a bit but after about 6 months of not using it an error apeared and I couldn't play it.There is A FOREM that you can go on to get it working again but somhow I can't find it and am still stuck with the same error. As I said before, it is a fun game but soon becomes unplayable
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED |

Easy to play and fun game, must have for every StarWars fan! Some puzzle solutions are hard to spot, but it's nothing compared to the fun you'll have. Camera can be quite bad some times though. |

One of the best (and funniest) games I have played!

I have played many Star Wars games over the years (the arcade/adventure type, not the role playing strategy games) and although a lot of them drew on the stuff we like from the films there was never one that allowed us to play the story of the films until the Lego Star Wars games came out.I never played the original game featuring episodes 1-3 but bought the Original Trilogy game and was thrilled in every way.
The thing that struck me first was that it was very playable as the characters get shot but they just come back to life, and the worst thing is that you lose some of the studs you pick up when you are shot, but these just spread around and there's a good chance to pick up a few once you come to life again.
The next thing I noticed was how light hearted and enjoyable the game was to play. You just wander around, shooting stormtroopers, making small piles of lego up and solving puzzles. It keeps to the story very well. The game is hilarious in parts, with the cut scenes between levels being brilliantly funny. Even within the levels it's very humourous, with things like Chewbacca putting on a helmet and it not fitting well, Gammorean guards playing their weapons like guitars, and Stormtroopers having their heads turned 180 degress by the "force"!
For me the best levels are the ones including vehicles and these levels were the stuff of dreams for me. Using a snowspeeder to bring down the AT AT's, blasting round the Endor forest on a Speeder bike etc. Marvellous stuff!
Graphically it's also very pleasing to the eye with gorgeously rendered characters and laser bolts, and lovely use of graphics to show the reflections on mirrored surfaces.
I can't rate this game high enough. Some of the old Lucasarts games (Dark Forces, X Wing etc) were great but this is the one most star wars fans will want! |

I'm a not a huge gamer, but grew up playing with LEGO and watching Star Wars. One of my friends had this game and recommended it to me and I'm so glad he did. It's the right side of challenging (without being impossible) and is possibly the most playful game I've ever played in terms of character animations and expressions.
I love it so much I'm planning on going and buying the first one now!!!
PS. Unlike the two people who gave this game 1 star, I've had no problems in installing it or running it. The game has never crashed on me or even hinted at doing anything of the sort. Have confidence in purchasing it. |
