To simple to sink your teeth into
(May 23, 2008) |

Complexity is toned down a lot from Empire Earth 2 but this game in the series is far too simple, graphics are very low-grade considering the size of the hard-drive used and its development date. The different unit speeches when moving are incredibly cheesy and i had to turn them off on the first map if i was ever going to enjoy this game.
I'm not sure if playing it on Vista caused this problem but when i built walls the enemy were still able to cross through them if they kept trying and also if they set a path to travel pre-wall they could still go through. Also the builders kept getting stuck inside the wall!
There aren't actually many issues with the game other than the capacity in which you can develop your `empire' is very limited due to limited upgrades and limited weapons. Reminds me very much of Megalomania from the 80s/90s

dont make the same mistake i did i thought that 1 and 2 were realy good so 3 would be amazing ..... the truth is that 3 is a digresion of the first one. The graphics are horrible as they are chartoony the game play is simplified and the responces from your troops is really anoying!!!! unlike the simple "yes's" and "certainly" each troops blabers on about either being stupied or superstious.
Overall i think empire earth have cheaply made a 3rd empire earth on the reputation of one and two knowing that poeple trusted number 3 would be good. |

not played ee1 or ee2 and never will after playing this. graphics are bad, gameplay is boring and repetative and manages to run badly on high spec xps! (4g ram, 8600gt, dual core). just don't bother because its rubbish and you'll regret spending the notes. |

Completely dissapointed

I purchased this game from Gamestation today(well, yesturday now lol) for £19.99, i chose it over: Hellgate London, Shadowrun, Quake Wars, Juiced 2. out of all of them i chose the worst one. The original Empire Earth was great, this one is not. It has cartoony graphics, corny dialogues, shallow gameplay, unrealistic feel... its aimed at children i'm guessing. I am going to plea with Gamestation for a refund/exchange tomorrow if i can. I don't think i'd sell it on Amazon and let someone else waste their money and hopes. Please do not buy. |

A huge dissapointment

I was extreamly dissapointed with this game. When i saw it in the shop i picked it up right away as i have enjoyed playing Empire Earth 2 many times in the past, i thought this would be even better. ..How wrong i was. It was an extream let down the Empire Earth games. It makes for no fun at all, and while some things that are unrealistic, as are occassionally present in EE2, can be fun, this game just greatly overdoes it. Also, the design of the buildings and units in the game are nothing more than an absolute insult to the eyes, it is a humongus disaster to watch. I do not recomend anyone to buy this game, well, at least not unless you enjoy games which are entirely unrealistic, and stupendously boring.
I will just stick to Empire Earth 2, and i wish i'd never wasted the money on EE3. |
