I have had the xena game for quite a while now and find it to be a good game for playing when you've got all your mates round, because of its 4 player capability. To fully appreciate this game you have to be a lover of the show there are many characters from the show which you can be and all the characters have different traits like in the show.....like for example Joxer as mighty as he thinks he is he is still clumsy with his sword but if your not careful that sword can be pretty dangerous trust me I know!!! But take for example the god of war, Ares himself I think whats funny is the fact that he should be the best fighter but I find him the worst!!! Anyway I am babbling on.......but I think the game is good it embraces many characteristics of the show with cool sound effects and yes if you fiddle with those buttons xena will throw her chakram much to your opponents surprise!!hahaha......but yes I think the game is great for those who love a good old fight.....but I have given it a rating of four because as much as its greatness nothing can beat the real thing and thats the xena show itself. But buy it cos it real fun when your bored or wanna thrash your friends one by one......hahahahaha!!! |

Xena Warrior Princess
(August 27, 2000) |

When Xena Warrior Princess came to the N64, I knew I had to get it as I love the TV show and have the Playstation Xena game, so I couldn't wait to see what was different this game. The answer is it's totally different from the Playstation version as it's a totally different game. The Playstation was an adventure quest type game and this is a fighting game. Quest mode is where you fight all of the characters featured in the game to try and win the Tailsman of Fate. This mode lasts for about 15 minutes! VS mode pretty much explains itself. Roster is like a team where you can have up to 4 characters, which drop in one by one as your first one dies. Say you have a friend, but four controllers. You take one, your friend takes one. You can press start on the other controllers and select computer and you can select computer controlled characters aswell! And you can also choose random so you don't know who the computer controlled characters are! Also whats brilliant is it's compatible with the expansion pack. I haven't seen it with the expansion pack though. However, if you liked the TV series I suggest you buy this game. I just love beating my brother up on it! |
