Annoyingly addictive

I am not really surprised that no-one else has put a review of this game up. When i say to my friends "Oh i have Starshot" they all go "What? I've never heard of that one." What struck me about this game when i first started playing it was how difficult it was to control. It is really hard to get Starshot to go where you want, and if you land on a small platform you may just jump off it again by accident. The camera is hard to get to grips with as well, and while you sit fiddling with that some low-life baddy comes and smashes your face in. Another annoying thing about this is that it gives you NO clue what do to once you are on a level. All you get told is "find this" or "stop that". Once you are there it leaves you on your own, and i have wandered round for DAYS trying to figure out what to do, and got no help whatsoever. The next thing is the music. It's so monotonous! I do like the music for 'Killer Expo' because it is really sinister, but the music consists of a short idea repeated endlessly! The characters are boring. Their speech is subtitled and all you can hear is something like "blabl blarbl bremt mir". Grrrr. One good (or bad) thing about this game is that you get unlimited lives. This is good because you need hundreds of them anyway to get through it, but can be bad because you just don't know when to stop. The levels themselves are stupidly difficult because you need to have expert timing, precision and quality handling, none of which can be achieved through the contolling of the game. The levels: TENSUNS - a beach paradise. Annoying music, easy task which is hard to do, but quite a good warm up. KILLER EXPO - nice music, really hard to figure out what you have to do. Flying here is essential, so if you didn't master it on TENSUNS you are in trouble. ( And it IS really hard to control. ) PRIMITRON - the most annoying repetative jungle level in the world. Hard too. TECHNOMUM - not an all round bad level, although finding your way around it is very tricky. ???? - i really cannot remember the name of this one. It's full of ghosts and stuff, and it took me AGES to figure out how to get through it, then it took me more AGES to actually do it. EARTH - as it is in the future. ruled by robots. Quite fun wandering through streets, but impossibly vague in what to do, even Mensa will have a hard time with this. Music bad as well. The baddies here take an AWFUL lot of beating. THE BOSS - a really hard level because you can't jump, and you have to get this thing to follow you, and it's walking patterns are, shall we say, not the most organized. Boss itself boring and hard. Well, overall a dissapointing game. The only reason i have given it 2 stars instaead of one is the fact that i could not stop playing it. I got angrier with it every day, but had to complete it.
