very disappointing
(July 05, 2004) |

graphics - 2d was better for control and for the n64 the graphics are shockingly awful. the animation though is smoother than a keanu reeves chat up line. 55% sound - awful. the engine sounds liek a hairdryer (taken inspiration from a lada then) 44% controls - made worse by the 3d angle of the graphics. its not good and can be very slippey at times. 50% playbility - just not got thew addictiveness of the megadrive version 52% lastability - with l;oads of better games out there it aint gonna last 41% overall - what a shambles. very dissapointing . only worth a look if your an ardent fan of the game. 48% |

best ever N64 racing (multiplayer)
(April 26, 2003) |
|
This is a review for the worlds best multiplayer racing title in the world. You race around the classrooms, chemistary labs, pool tables, the beach and the back garden. (i'm sure i missed one) You break out in fits of laughter, gang up on people, swear at each other then finially get into a friendly punch up. This is probably the only N64 game that does that. It's got a decent single player mode (or modes) too. Before you throw away your N64 think what you have been missing. sniff, sniff, sob sob |

Micro Machines V3
(October 01, 2000) |
|
It's mini mayhem and, in the short term at least, rollickingly good fun. MMV3 though, has longevity problems and suffers from a desperate lack of innovation. Being basically the same as the Playstation version, you take on any one of 8 characters, from funky Spider to flirty Cherry and race them around various giant locations. From breakfast tables to beach picnics, there really are tonnes of tracks to choose from. The controls are simple and easy to get to grips with after only a few minutes play, and you will win races after only 10 minutes. This is actually one of the games flaws, it gets uninvolving after a while because there is so little you can do to win some of the trickier races bar steer with no mistakes. I only needed to use the brakes on two of the challenges. MMV3 is best played with a gang of mates, where 8 people can share 4 controllers and participate in Party Play. Overall, it's a lot of fun... if you have the friends to play with. MMV3 can get very lonely if you're on your own. |
