Not good.

I got this game for full price when it first came out for some reason.
Your first impresion of the game may not be bad, the graphics are clean and the voices are really clear, the levels have a nice almost platform game look to them and it is all nicely animated.
Unfortunately it doesn't take long for the external things to be seen through and the game show through... The levels are quite big, but they get really dull. Everything looks like a 3D South Park should, but that wears thin too- there is horrendous fogging, and after a while you start getting the same phrases and the humour wears away too.
The game is pretty big, there is a good weapon variety, but somehow it just feels so dull and uninvolving after a while.
The weapons are quite good, but if you've ever played Turok 2 (it was made by the same people) then they'll be very familiar. The cow launcher is the big "oh so funny" weapon (the one hit kill one), it's exactly the same as the Cerebral Bore in Turok 2. This shows in other weapons, Terrance and Philip dolls= Remote/Proximity mines. This is all fine, but it just rams home the feeling that there is nothing fresh in here.
The multiplayer is quite fun, there are loads of characters to unlock, each one's main draw is to hear the voice's because they really have put loads in. Multi is also no competition for GoldenEye, Perfect Dark or even Turok Rage Wars, but it's exactly the same as Turok 2 in all but graphics/sound.
Basically, this is funny for a while, but the game really isn't a classic by any means. It was funny to show my friends to start off with, but once the novelty wears off you'll never play it again. If you want a game with this kind of humour, go for Conker's Bad Fur Day which is more mature and has obviously had alot more effort put in.

A surprisingly good game!!

This is a great game. It has lots of hidden extras to keep you going, and the multi player mode is great. Graphics are good enough, sound is good too (lots of funny quotes). The gameplay is surprisingly good (very 007) and there are plenty of characters and weapons to keep you entertained. (Also check out South Park Rally! Avoid Chef's Love Shack!!) One problem (not with the game though!) i bought the game from this very user, and what he failed to mention is that it is cartridge only! no box or instructions!!! |
