you start off with 4 crap chatacters. You have to go to the training area and complete different challenges such as driving, chipping, puttting and long balls onto the green.Every time you complete a challenge, you get points to spend on your character to improve their ability. It is a very hard game to play, but annoyingly addictive.
The golf aspect itself is also hard to learn. using the c-stick, you have to pull it down till you reach the power you want per shot, then slam it forward to get a perfect shot. If you dont get the c-stick perfect, you slice the ball. Driving is a doddle, chipping isnt hard...putting is a nightmare! No matter how much i practise, i still cant get it right.
best part though is you can go nuts. In a match, how you play a shot affects your confidence. Better shots mean increased confidence which makes your next shot easier and easier. Conversely, a bad shot makes the next one harder and so on. If you press the X Button inthe middle of play, you go into the "Beating Mode" where you start kicking in your caddy to increase your confidence.
In all, not a funny game as it leads you to belive, but deffo better than any other golf game in terms of enjoyment. Just the putting that puts me off.
