This Game Boy Color version of the Madden NFL 2001 is a faithful adaptation of the larger-platform game, which is both the game's best feature and, ultimately, its most disappointing aspect. Fans of American football will be dazzled by the level of gameplay available here--there are dozens of formations with hundreds of options; there's never been a better simulation of the game. Besides individual gameplay, there's the opportunity here to play not just a single game, but anything from a specific game situation (Sudden Death), a full season, or just the playoffs.
