UEFA Striker
|
|
|
| Description:
Football is a rare thing on the Dreamcast, so when you get the chance of a game, it always has high hopes. UEFA Striker, although not a FIFA, is a high hope for the Dreamcast, and with commentary from the likes of Jonathan "get excited about a corner" Pearce and Ron Atkinson, you know you could be in for a treat. So with UEFA offering 130 teams--all with correct name spelling--and nine game modes UEFA Striker has plenty to offer. Couple this with a huge element of customisation and gameplay that opens further elements of the game and you'll be in for some good football. The control method is your standard shoot, pass, boot and tackle and although lacking the precision of the FIFA series is useable to soon rack up the goals. This is a welcome non-arcade football game for the Dreamcast. --Stuart Miles

It's alright......

Like many football games it's all to easy to score a goal. The AI for the defenders is poor and the keepers drop from intertnational to Sunday league standard as soon as a player gets inside the box. The most annoying thing is the lack of options, especially formations, where every single one plays 442, whichever you select. It's much better played with a friend, but even then you're still thinking "I wish it was ISS.....". I have enjoyed this game, but the longevity just isn't there. |

Best on DC. That's not saying a lot but it's actually v good

I can't be bothered to write a long review. It's better than anything on D.C. It's fun. It looks good. It has lots of modes and tournaments. It's got a good training mode. It's got long loading times. If you want a football game and you own a Dreamcast, buy this. It'll keep you going for ages. |

Best for DC.

This is by far and away the best footie game on the DC, and I know I have all of them. Deep like none of the competition, with lots of extras, and great fun with mates. Buy it if you like footie games, as a party game it is a bit lacking unless some practice is put into it as scoring is (thankfuly) harder than in most other games. Only gripe is that it is incredibly hard to score fom a free kick, but then again that's quite reailistic, ain't it? Best feature is how there is room for every style of play: passing game, long ball, mixed, defensive, you've got it all there. I've got 20-odd games for my DC and this one is the one I keep coming back the most to. Why only Four Stars then? Well if you don't like football you won't like it. |

Best of a bad bunch
(February 19, 2001) |

There is a definate lack of good footy games on the Dreamcast but this is probably the best of a bad bunch. It has a good training sub game. One problem is with shooting, you cant really control where the shot goes and have to put a lot of effort in just to give the ball some height, plus the longer you hold the shoot button, the harder the shot but there are no power bars. I would not recomend buying this one, just hire it for a couple of days |

A Dam Good Buy

Power up the dreamcast with this game in it and you have an awesome display of football magic. I feel this is the best football game on the dreamcast at the moment, okay Virtua Striker 2000.1 looks visually superb but it seems to lack realism in the gampeplay department. UEFA striker is much nicer to play, it has good graphics, commentary and gameplay are rolled into one package. P.S. By the way don't expect this game to be as good as the I.S.S Pro or Fifa series. |
