PowerStone (Dreamcast)
|
|
|
| Description:
Packed with all the energy and over-the-top moves of a Jackie Chan movie, Power Stone revitalizes the fighting game genre with fully functional 3-D combat environments and frenzied strategy. Face your opponent in a London courtyard and you can hurl café chairs and tables at him before taking him out by swinging around a lamppost. Or fight in a dilapidated shopping mall, and beat your foe down with a giant stuffed teddy bear after tossing him through a storefront window. Each multilevel combat area is stocked with crates, barrels, clubs, even ray guns, and everything can be used as a weapon. Interactive fighting environments are fun, but what really sets Power Stone apart are the power stones. Collecting all three stones transforms the character into a superbeing, unlocking new and devastating attacks. Since the overall goal of the game is to beat up your opponent, and the superform lets you do the most damage, competition for the stones is fierce. If you're tired of the standard fighting game formula and want a little more, Power Stone is the game for you. It's a perfect translation of the arcade hit, and the uncomplicated, frantic combat will bring a grin to many a jaded gamer's face. --Mike Fehlauer Pros:- Easy to learn, fast-paced gameplay
- 11 unique, multilevel, interactive fighting environments
- Great use of VMU
- Smooth, vivid, arcade-quality graphics
Cons: - Game may be too frantic for some players

Powerstone is farely old now but there are still a many of us that still play it (Or its successor Powerstone 2). Powerstone introduced a new dimension to the fighting game genre, literally! This was what we'd all been waiting for. A fighting game that handled like a 3D free roming platformer. The many combinations of power-up and ability in this game is vast, from throwing crates and firing machine guns to swing off poles and collecting the all important powerstones. Powerstone is a bold and colourful game allowing the whole family to enjoy it. Its fast, its frantic and its fun. It Powerstone. |

Power Stone is a game which offers a lot of fun. Many different characters with the most amazing cool moves helps this game to be so much fun. The nine different levels are very detailed and offer a huge variety of weapons. There are all sorts of weapons from Petrol Bombs and Flamethrowers to just an old box lying around. The two player mode is brillant to play with your friends were you can battle it out in in which it's best out of three wins. In the arcade version collect many different types of items and weapons and use them in two player. One of Power Stones' best feature is when you collect three power stones, which appear during the fight, you transform into a your super mode which means you can preform some of the most best looking and cool moves you've ever seen! |

ITS JUST BAD!!!!
(January 02, 2001) |

Its the worst game ever that has cartoony graphics and is tedious. There is next to no blood and gore. However this is my favourite game besides Clayfighter 63 a third |

There's only one word that describe's it: Wow (or is it Wicked). This game sets you free of just kick and punch.Although there is no good story behind it like the tekken games the graphics and the fast pace of the game will play for hours on end |
