Worms Armageddon
|
|
|
| Description:
Do you ever wonder what all of those worms squirming around subterranean tunnels are scheming? We do, too. As it turns out, according to Worms Armageddon, our wacky segmented friends have a stockpile of crazy weapons and are waging a war big enough to turn the world into a heaping compost pile. Who knew? Worms Armageddon brings the humorously addictive gameplay of the very popular Worms series to the Dreamcast for the first time. The strategy-based gameplay is as unique as the premise. Commanding a team of worms, players wriggle and shoot through 30 missions and 14 training levels. Players take turns moving a worm warrior into position and then firing at the opposing team, using an arsenal of weapons ranging from mines and kamikaze attacks to the more traditional exploding sheep attack and banana bombs. Naturally, the commander who best combines strategic moves with creative attacks wins the worm war. Join the throngs of fans of this unique game series and you'll never look at a grinning, gun-toting earthworm in the same way again. --Stuart Miles

great version of the worms franchise

this game is great. every one knows worms, and this game is great to play with friends. sega wanted the dreamcast to be a great party console, and this is one of the best party games on it. although a newer version was released, worms world party-this included online play, but as far as i know the servers aint up for it anymore, so you may as well stick with this one. the one gripe for me was it uses 1 controller for 4 players. this is great if you dont have enough controllers, but if you have 4 controllers, passing the 1 controller around the room gets annoying when every1 could have there own controllers. aside from this-its classic worms fun, with great new weapons (the holy hand grenade and the concrete donkey come to mind :p) this is another good buy for your DC |

The worms turn once again!

The classic multiplayer treat that is Team 17's Worms has finally sprung life onto Dreamcast, with a conversion of Armageddon, the sort of side-track to Worms 2. With Dreamcast's modem, the prospect of online Worms through a console is something to be very excited about, but hold on there. Sadly, Armageddon doesn't include an online option, and that is the factor which prevents it from getting a well deserved five stars. But, considering that there's little to grumble about. It may look like a dull 2D game, but it's packed with more playability then you can shake a stick at, and the humerous weapons and voice banks are a stroke of genuis. Worms has always been a classic, and it's the same on DC. If, however, you want to experience it online, then may I suggest you go for the more recent World Party. Both games are practically the same, but the online options is its key difference. If however you're not bothered about online play, then just go cheap and get Armageddon. No matter what, you'll be guaranteed a bloody good time! |

Worms Armageddon is the best of worms games. Terribly adictive, tons of weapons, and hilarious reactions.I never really paid attention to the worms series, but this was a worthy purchase. There`s nothing really special do to with the graphics, and could be pushed further to the Dreamcast`s ability, but still one for the collection. |
