Best. Game. Ever.

Seriously, this game is incredible!
I actually first played this game on a trip to America shortly after it came out. I liked it so much I went home and bought a dreamcast, then Space Channel 5. I think the best thing about this game is its simplicity - anyone can play it and enjoy the colourful, cheery setting. Though it doesn't have a two player mode it's still a great game for parties and gatherings because you can quite easily take it in turns to play. The various levels are divided into little sections which makes "tag-team" play really easy. Well, easy if you can bring yourself to hand over the controller - this game is honestly the most addictive thing I've ever played. |

It could really only have come from Dreamcast. Even as the playstation continues to outsell the greatest ever games console ( it's a tragedy ) Sega once again transcends genres and creates games that redefine what we accept makes a game fun. Games set in the future and Sega seem to fit perfectly, with Phantasy Star Online ( another Dreamcast must ) and Sonic Adventure 2 ( well, it was partly set in space ) quite astounding examples of this, and this quite brilliant game. You control Ulala, a rookie reporter who just happens to be one of the funkiest people in the galaxy. She has been sent to stop an invasion of funky but evil aliens called morolians, which must be the cutest baddies in a game ever! To stop them you must match their dance moves by pressing the corresponding controller buttons. Sounds simple, right? The first level fits this criteria, with the grooviest music ever, and quite an easy settling in period. However, the difficulty increases with each level, until you meet the last few bosses, which will annoy you if you are anything like me! All in all 'Space Channel 5' is most definately a Dreamcast game: Sega have again created an amazing gaming experience. The one question that remains is: Why do people think Playstation is better? |

This game is surprisingly fun! It's very simple, but it's arcade gaming at it's best. All you have to do is press the correct sequence of buttons in order to copy the alien's dance moves. Although this sounds boring, it's actually very addictive. You'll just stay on for one more go, although "one more go" was actually an hour ago! As you've probably guessed, it's Japanese in origin. Those crazy folks at Sega have done it again! There are four levels to the game, each one getting progressively harder. I only got the game yesterday and I haven't got past level 2 yet! It can be quite hard, but you'll enjoy it immensely. As an arcade game, this is the supreme champion! It's not the kind of game that you should take seriously, it's the kind of game that you should play with your mates or if you just want a quick blast of fun. The graphics are excellent; the background are pre-rendered and look lovely, and the characters are superbly animated 3D models. The controls are very intuitive (you only have to use the D-pad and the AB buttons), and you'll be dancing away in no time. This is a great game, and I'd recommend it to anybody. If you own a Dreamcast and you like this sort of arcade game, go and buy it! There are only two other games that I'd call essential buys, and those are Tony Hawks Skateboarding and Shen Mue... |

The principle of this game is simple, watch the Morolian moves, listen to their directions and repeat. You need a good memory for this game, not only do you have to follow the dance steps to the exact rhythm, you must shoot the Morolians, and save the hostages at the same time. One you free a hostage, he joins you. Crucially, the better you perform, the higher your viewer ratings get. Your level of performance also effercts Ulula's dancing, if you do well she moves like Britney Spears, if you do badly the music gets distorted and Ulala and her troupe will drag themselves about in dismay. The music is quite funky, and ulala looks very sexy in the PVC she wears, and for each level you get some off the coolest outfits youll ever see off the catwalk. The downside to this game is that its very short, There are only four levels and six bosses to tango with, but the levels can be quite tricky, and it gets compicated when the directions are reversed. It wont take you long complete it, but it does have a good deal of replayability, as you can work to improve your rating figures, and attempt to rescue every last human. The graphics are clean and colourful, The soundtrack is good, and the 78 characters are well developed, and well dressed. The plot is interesting, and there is a love interest to add a little flavour. All in all it is a game all the family can enjoy |
