In short
(June 27, 2007) |
|
It's hard. Very. VERY. Hard.
It's also not very fun on single player, and since it is no longer online, you can only play with friends on the multiplayer.
The controls can be customized and you will spend a lot of time fumbling around with them until you get a set-up that feels comfortable to you.
The graphics are pretty awesome and there is a huge array of weapons, characters and arenas (all of which are brilliantly detailed and pleasing to play in).
Unfortunately, however, not much more can really be said about this game. It's overrated and mediocre, and chances are you'll be disappointed. Spend your money on something else. |

Truly one of the best games around just not on the dreamcast
(September 21, 2006) |

i bought a dreamcast just to play quake 3 and it was the most anticipated game out of the ones i bought i have to say i love quake 3 on the pc and ps2 but sadly the controls really do let this game down you see the dreamx cast controller doesnt have two analog sticks giving it one butten less than the next two generations of consoel that followed making it a very hard game to play but it's so much easier on the ps2 and pc. Also my tv is far too modern for this console and the picture shows alot of static and no sound, to be honest i'm still waiting to play it i give it three stars because i've played and loved it on other platforms. |

if you suck you probably will not rate it too highly

this game is ace, i had it when it first came out and i got it again now, the controls are like a sophisticated turok for the n64, a lack of buttons on a dc pad make moving with the face buttons and looking with the analogue a little awkward at first. but keep at it, its a very rewarding game and very fun multiplayer- with some fantastic graphics! |

Difficult
(August 30, 2004) |

I bought this game for the Dreamcast after playing it Online for the PC for a long while, being a die hard fan. The dreamcast version is somewhat disapointing, as it is quite simply "luck and no skill" type play, as its almost impossible to aim. Me and my freinds played this and found ourselves in fits of laughter at eachother inability to aim. The games graphics are kinda poor, and the game is very repetative and unfulfiling. Only worth a few quid in my opinion, but I'm glad I bought it. |

it might have been good back in 1999

it might have been good back in the day when the dreamcast really needed a fps game but with unreal tornament, its not needed. this game lacks any need of tactical skill and i had trouble finding it fun even in multi-player. i'd advise you to spend your money elseware on a game thats worth buying. on the plus side though, the online functions still work and its cheap! |
