The Great Micro Machines V3
(January 26, 2004) |
|
one of the most memorable games i have ever played, the sort of "mess around with alot of people" game especially with a multitap or 2, very fun, no great skill involved in multiplayer, 1 player is hard towards the end due to the birdseye view. I would buy if you have a lot of friends who like this sort of thing, i think this is better than the new PS2 version even though it is PS1! |

Micro Machines, What a clever idea matchbox sized cars being made to race on every day environments, Shier brilliance, Spoilt by awkward camera angles and painfully hard computer opponents which can put you off a bit. But overall a great game with enough cars and levels to keep you going for ages. The two player mode isn't that great unfortunately, split screen action would have worked better. Overall a neat little game. Well worth it's price. |

Nice

As a one player game this title is pretty good fun as you race your way over pool tables, beach courses and a back yard with a big dog in it but add a human opponent and it really takes off. There's nothing like collecting a power-up and blowing the wheels off the opposition, only to have the courtesy returned a couple of minutes later. Graphically it looks a little dated, but what this game has by the bucketload is playability. There's been little before or since that allows you to return to a childhood state and play with toy cars in this way. |

Take a handful of Matchbox cars, slap them down on a tabletop then give them all some kind of artificial intelligence and you have Micro Machines 3. good, but not great

Yeah, it's addictive, and yeah, the mulitplayer option is excellent as you race to knock your competitors off the screen, but I jsut wish that there were more levels. Once you've played them all (and there aren't really that many) it all gets a bit disappointing. That said, the first time you play it you will instantly fall in love with the ace graphics as you race across the breakfast table, getting bogged down in a dollop of honey or skidding out of control in a pool of milk and plunging to your death off the edge of the table. Just nowhere near enough different circuits. |
