Tony Hawks Pro Skater 3 (Xbox Classics)
|
|
|
| Description:
The best extreme-sports game gets even better in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3. The elements that made the last two games a success are back: tight controls, a deep trick system, a wide selection of skaters (including Tony Hawk, Bucky Lasek, Rodney Mullen, Chad Muska and Elissa Steamer) and a slick soundtrack. Adding to the already brilliant formula is a new trick and updated graphics to take advantage of the Xbox's superior processing speed. In Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2, players were introduced to the manual--a move that greatly revolutionised the series' gameplay. This instalment introduces the revert, and while it isn't as significant an addition as the manual, it does add another layer to the already deep trick system. The game features solid graphics but a level of detail was sacrificed in order to make the game's levels so large. There are a few moments of frame skipping and polygon clipping, but these instances are rare and don't overshadow the stellar gameplay. Career mode is as deep as ever, with eight objective-filled levels. In this single-player mode players traverse their way through and find hidden videotapes and interact with level-specific objects. Two players can participate in the five multiplayer mini-games, which include "king of the hill", "horse" and "trick attack". On its own, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 is a top title, but with its Internet capabilities there's no reason for fans of sports, action and platform games not to have this title. This game will satisfy them all.--Raymond M Padilla

Best skating game ever
(November 02, 2004) |
|
Tony Hawk's pro skater 3 is by far the best skateboarding game ever created with: *Exclusive level developed only for Xbox - plus 8 other massive living levels. *Skate as the legendary Tony Hawk or choose from a dream team of top 12 skaters. *Enhanced skate park editor and create-a-skater (now including female skaters). *Incredible new tricks! Use the "revert" to link vert tricks or bust all new flatland tricks. *Skate to tracks by Red hot chili peppers, Xzibit, and Alien Ant Farm or create your own mix with the gloabal soundtrack feature. *Skate against friends in the awesome system link play. THPS3 is a brilliant game. That is really all I need to put in this review. The graphics are great, the skaters are great, everything is great. The controls are easy to handle, and tricks are easy to learn. But some special tricks force you to work a bit before mastering them. Use combos to boost your points and score higher records. And remember, take full advantage of nearby scenery because to pull off the combo you need, you will probably have to use it. It takes you a fair while to complete even for people who have had their Xbox for years. I had had mine for just a little over a year when I got THPS3 and it still took me 3 months to complete with great, and I mean great unlocking bonuses including, new characters, new decks, e.t.c. You will like this game. |

Good, not great

I bought this game from amazon a few months back, got it on the monday, compelted it on the wednesday... and by compelted i dont mean 1 skater and jsut all levels... i mean every skater, every task... EVERYTHING Yeah its a good game, teh controls are excellent and on the whole the graphics are good but the game is to easy for anyone who has played tony hawks 1 or 2 and has done resonably well in it. If your new to the genre then feel free to get it, however if youve played the rest in teh series rent it and if you dont compelte it within your rental time then think about getting it. |

Another excellent addition to the series!

When the original Tony Hawk's came out on the PSone, I was gobsmacked, and yet somehow them clever people just keep making them better and better. Excellent levels, huge with lots of tasks to achieve. A great sense of achievement when completing tasks, Brilliant trick system (as always). The music is fantastic but if youre not into heavy rock then you can allways play youre own music. Overall, much better than THPS 1 & 2, probably even 4. 10/10 |

I got my xbox yesterday and this was the first game that I plugged in. I was AMAZED. The graphics are good, not perfect, by the control system is incredibly simple. This is an imenssly fun game, not too easy, and you get a strange sense of acivement after unlocking another level, or some other incredible aspect of the game. I cannot express your need enough to buy this and if you don't have one, an Xbox. |

Phat game!

This game is top notch, with loads of tricks to master, great graphics and super gameplay. The soundtrack is brilliant too, the best song probably being Ace of Spades by Motorhead! Its quite a challenging game but most of the xbox games seem to be pretty damn hard! One piece of advice is to order it right away! |
