Sickened by Spyro.

First things first, I only played Spyro 1 2 and 3 for ps1, and then this. There is no comparison between those masterpieces and this rubbish.
1 The charge and flame controls are reversed
2 The new gliding system SUCKS
3 The new in game sounds are v babyish, the bg music is ok
4 Spyro is cocky, and talks to the camera, spoiling everything
5 Spyro has a ladyfriend
6 You cant charge in mid air anymore, you are instantly magnetised to the floor
These are my main problems with this game. I am an experienced gamer. You can tell insomniac games had nothing to do with this.
Over all: Good for an 8 yr old who hasn't played 1 2 or 3, bad for anyone else. |

This game is amazing!

This game is really really good. I played it continuously as soon as i got it. I was really disappointed with Enter the dragonfly because you never seemed to be going anywhere...(i had been looking forward to it for quite a while) so i was very pleased with when a hero's tail came out. It's nice to see some of the characters from the original three come back. I think hunter looks pretty good in this one though! It's nice to see a couple of new characters and some old enemies too! I would recommend this game to anyone who likes spyro and especially those who lost faith with enter the dragonfly because it will restore your faith and it's amazing to play! |

An amazing game, it more than makes up for Enter the Dragonfly

When we first bought this game I was expecting another 'Enter the Dragonfly', in other words another poor conversion, but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Right from the title screen it is clear to see that this game has restored much of the spyro charm which gave the games their popularity on the PS1.
The graphics are beautiful, and the sound is amazing. Some of the music wouldn't sound out of place in a feature film, especialy the BG tracks for Ice Cidatel and Cloudy Domain. The levels are vast and varying, and there are so many challenges and secrets that this game should keep you going for at least a couple of months. There have been reviews saying that it's 'short and easy', however I doubt these people have played the game to it's full potential and tried to achieve 100% completion. Yes, the main objective of the game may be achieved quite quickly, but to realy enjoy it you need to find the secrets and bonuses.
The characters are easy to control and the movement feels free and easy, as opposed to the previous game which felt very sluggish. There is a simple but strong and effective storyline, and the new characters introduce a whole new level of depth to the game. Oh and also the character design is increadible, and they fit very well into their environments.
If you are planning to buy this game and have doubts, put them out of your head and go for it, you wont be dissapointed. |

boring!!!
(December 03, 2006) |

i bought this game because i loved the spyro's games for ps1.
this game is very long so you will take minimun 20/25 hours to arrive at the end...
but, i found this title very boring, repetitive, and some levels are very demanding and challenging.. the bosses are so easy to defeat respect af the demanding level where they are!!
i think this is not a game for ps2 beginners, but perfect for spyro's fan!!!! |
