Star Wars Episode 1: the Phantom Menace Platinum
|
|
|
| Description:
When Star Wars: Episode 1--The Phantom Menace became the biggest grossing film of 1999 it got a release on the PlayStation, now the popular game has gone Platinum. Star Wars: Episode 1--The Phantom Menace the game, like its silver-screen brother, sets new standards by creating a new gaming genre. The game consists of a unique blend of action-adventure, puzzle and RPG. Although this combination, initially, doesn't seem feasible, it is thoroughly enjoyable. Some levels have been created in order for your character to fight his way through to the end. Others require using Jedi powers to negotiate a peaceful, non-violent solution. It is up to the player to decide what the best course of action is. However, whichever method is chosen will either aid, or impede level progression. All the main locations from the film can be found in the game, such as the peaceful planet of Naboo and the much visited Tatooine. The sound quality is of a high standard, including music from the movie score. Voice acting and sound effects can also be found, incorporating the unmistakable sound of a moving lightsabre. There are eight levels in all to explore, culminating in a battle with the dark prodigy Darth Maul.Star Wars: Episode 1--The Phantom Menace will provide hours of cerebral work, as well as periods of initiative. Like The Force, it is finely balanced. --Alex Leung.

The force is strong in this one.......

I remember when I bought this in Autumn 1999. For the next month-two months upon purchasing it I was hooked. I thought this was the best Wars game yet and I'm a big wars fan me.
I loved the lightsaber fights, the gun battles and sometimes just mucking about slaughtering the innocent villagers when I knew I would fail the mission anyway. I found the Escape From Theed mission where you have to escort Queen Amidala to safety a tough cookie though. Eventually I found my way through it.
Yes I'll admit that by todays standards there are a few glitches but sometimes it's just great to pick up and play.
May the force be with you. |

Obviously the storyline is excellent because it is from the film. The gameplay is excellent and the controls are easy to get use to. The way we are able to see all the different on Tatooine and Coruscant is also very interesting. All in all this game is the best on the playstation mainly because of the storyline. Brilliant! |

Starwars episode 1:The phantom menace is very good. If you like to whip out your lightsaber and cut droids into tiny little pices. This game can provide you with as much fun as you could want. This game has plenty of levels and a wicked choice of weapons. This game comes with a special footage track which gives you a little taste of a Jedi's power. The graphics on this game are excellent and the sound is super. I gave this game 5 stars because it is ace. An especially good game, so don't miss it. |

Its a FAB game!

This is a brilliant game in many ways. Firstly you can earn footage from the film as you progress through the levels. Secondly there are trap doors that you fall down if your not careful; this makes the game more difficult. Thirdly the game is very difficult alone so you have to take care of your partner. Really the game only has one weak point, the graphics. If your a real Star Wars fan I advise you to buy this game. |

The Force sucks in this one

This game is terrible. I wish LucasArts would just give up on trying to make a good Episode 1 game. The graphics in this "game" are not the worst thing about it, however. The game's "gameplay" is. The sheer lack of any enjoyment in this game is shocking. You wander around, hit a switch to open this door and then the next. And usually a hard difficulty level is good in a game. But in this it's just annoying. The Tatooine level is unneccassarily complicated while your trying to find parts for that little irritating kid Anakin Skywlaker. Plus, you can't kill Jar Jar Binks. |
