007: The World Is Not Enough - Platinum (PS)
|
|
|
| Description:
If you've played EA's previous James Bond game on PlayStation, Tomorrow Never Dies, you probably won't be looking forward to The World Is Not Enough. However, although it could most accurately be described as GoldenEye-lite, The World Is Not Enough (TWINE) offers a much more satisfying experience than the previous effort both graphically and gameplay-wise. As you might expect you play the part of 007, and the action is viewed from a first-person perspective. As each levels begins you are given a set of objectives by M and these have to be completed before you can proceed. These tasks mainly involve shooting as many bad guys as possible with a variety of satisfyingly chunky weaponry, but there are also skiing, driving, gambling (one of the most fun) and stealth levels. With the latter utilising some neat gadgetry provided by John Cleese's R (the only actor from the film actually voicing his character in the game). The game follows the plot of the film very closely, with 10 levels being linked by extensive movie footage. An experienced gamer will not have too many problems finishing TWINE in a few hours, and the extensive violence makes this game unsuitable for younger players, but most James Bond fans will find much to entertain them in this diverting romp. --Michael Bartley

This is an indepht arcade shooter. The graphics are slightly poor, and the gameplay isn't brilliant, but's it's got all the weapons, level variety (based on the film) and enough fun moments to keep you playing for ages. |

James bond:The world is not enough

James Bond:The world is not enough is a fantastic game. If you purchased the other james bond titles i don't think you will be lookin forword to the world is not enough but it honestly has improved with 10 levels, excellent graphics and gameplay. With movie cuts from the real film. The game stays close to the movie lines so no suprise tanks or anything. With loads of cool gadgets including X-ray glasses, hookin watches And a bond film would not be the same without the beautiful weomen. How does he do it....... Bond is back |

Linear

TWINE is a decent game as far as graphics, gizmo's and control is concerned, however I found it far too linear if you get my meaning. There's no chance to divert from a certain path which the programmers have set out for you. Fine if you like a fairground duck shoot! |

The World Is Good Enough

Finally, the PlayStation has a Goldeneye. Sort of. TWINE is one of the best shooters on the PS, with absolutely stunning graphics, maybe the best ever, and keeps incredibly closely with the movie - an end of a level leads neatly into a film clip. But there's only eleven levels, which means it can be completed in about a fortnight, and also, unlike the N64 version, there's no multiplayer. Still worth the cash, though. |
